Animals suffer from excruciating scientific tests daily and because they cannot speak up humans have to speak up for them. In this world animals are taken advantage of, they are ripped out of their homes, put into cages, abused, killed or tortured by people in the world. Is it fair to have people experiment on animals? Are there alternatives that could perhaps replace animal subjects in laboratories? The answer for these questions is a solid YES. Because the vegetarian and vegan population is growing, restaurants and manufacturers are now offering animal free products ( house hold products, beauty products, etc.) for those who choose to live an animal cruelty free life. There are certain European countries that prohibit the use of animals in scientific experiments. The U.S is the biggest country to freely report the use of animals in labs and many animal activists are fighting to make that stop. Because of the growing vegetarian community as mentioned above, scientists have come up with alternatives to exclude animals in certain types of tests.
Learning about animal testing can make an animal lover change their diet to a vegetarian or vegan lifestyle. Because I am a vegetarian I have decided to write about the connection between animal testing ans vegetarianism/veganism. The title I had originally chosen for this paper was " Animal Testing and Vegetarianism- Information about animal testing and vegetarians" but then I thought about it and decided to change it to " Suffering for Science and Food for Thought.-A paper regarding animal testing and vegetarianism"
